Does anyone out there use a different IDE for Daz3d scripting? I'd really like to use Visual Studio Code if I could. Is there a tutorial on how to set it up specifically for Daz3d? I understand from my reading it's close to JavaScript. Would setting it up for Java suffice?

JavaScript would give the right general syntax, as far as I know (but there may be exceptions - features that Javascript has but the base ECMA 2 and Daz Script lack).
If you use VS Code, you may want to try adding JzSense
