Final Render to dark

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

I'm still new to this, but I know I am missing something! Using Daz Studio 4.8 Pro. I create my scene, don't even touch my lighting, choose 3Delight to render, then my scene comes out almost black. Is there a way to render it and have it come out exactly the way I have created it on the screen before the render?! I know I am missing a step here. Thanks!

    How are you lighting the scene? Are you sure the lights aren't being blocked (if shadows are on) by part of the scenery? (Note that Distant Lights shine from outside the scene even if the node is in the middle - for those only direction matters.)

    Yeah, i was wary of using lights for the longest time because i had no idea how to adjust the darned things. None of the tutorials i saw mentioned rotating them (I  tried to move them instead; which didn't help at all).
