Can't see that the issue is resolved for me yet, which is surprising. I'd expect Daz to hande this with a quickness.

They are solving it right now, I just had news from one of the users, just like you, who was waiting for the missing files and now they have just been added to her product library. It's on the go..

    Just to inform you :

The distribution issue is being solved by Daz right now :

    - people who buy the bundle will now automatically see all the 3 products in the content library.

    - people who have bought the bundle this morning, someone is presently adding manually the files to all the product libraries. But everybody will have all the products.

Good news indeed, not a huge issue and they do quickly sort these things, for me I won't get to download for a while anyway, current render at 1% convergence after 10hrs so downloading my new goodies won't be happening anytime soon!!!

1% convergence after 10 hours? What are you rendering .. A reproduction of this scene on only subdivision 3 figures?

I'm told it's been refreshed for previous purchasers, so everyone should have it in their account now. If not the case let me know!! (with your username)

Second that thought.... this is awesome. I was most likely going to buy these sets anyway, if only for research... but this image sold me totally.

Yeah, this shows my complaint with most test/promo renders... this actually shows a SCENE, emotion, implication... it's an intriguing and beautifully rendered image.

    Love it.

Agree this is what a promo image should be about.

Looking for a similar product for Genesis 2; IG Iray is essentials is decent, but don't like the other product.

So are you considering it for G2?

Great! I'm happy this was finally solved. This was a very stressing release for me!!

Thank you all for these comments!! This makes me really happy. Because there is a very funny story behind it. I really liked this image too, I wanted to make this for a while, but I hesitated to place this image in the promo images because my husband thought it was not good and my son had told me : "why does the baby have a tattoo?"..

Finally at the end I had rendered so many skins that I could not find the courage to make other images, and placed this one to show the two extends of the Genesis figures. And I realise today I'm not the only one to like it!

Well, good question. I had planned to learn MDL in order to directly script the skins or the materials and to add some particular features, and this is something which was supposed to keep me busy a looooong time. I had a doubt for Genesis 2 because I thought most people would use the default material of Daz for the figures and nothing more. But now, with many people asking that to me, I'm seriously thinking of making something for Genesis 2 and 3 too. But I'm thinking of something better in term of user interface, if I manage to script that. I would begin with Genesis 2 because this is where I have the most figures to optimise. And I'd like to wait to have 2/3 Genesis 3 male figures so that Genesis 3 version would be more "optimal". But yes, due to "popular demand" for such tools, I'm seriously thinking to make that for Genesis 2. I can start fast or on the contrary in a while, since I'm someone very "impulsive" regarding project choices.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION :

IN ORDER TO WORK, THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES DAZ STUDIO VERSION TO BE 4.8.0.59 AND ANY VERSION ABOVE.

OTHERWISE YOU WILL GET AN ERROR MESSAGE INSTEAD OF A NICE SKIN...

    It would be a pitty!

Well you will have to be patient :)

I came here for a breaking news, which concerns you too :

Even if not made for Genesis 2, the two first main appliers, "MAG" and "UTCC", seem (probably due to an unknown Daz Studio background process),  to be working on Genesis 2. You can test this if you want to, but you have to know the normal maps are lost during the tranfer. All the other customisation scripts will NOT work. But these main appliers will provide you an Iray preset if accept to loose the normal maps!  Well you may eventually want to test Iray preset for Genesis 2 figures, knowing that it is not optimised for G2, but for Genesis.

Lol not quite, its a scene that exceeds the gpu memory so is rendering cpu only, using the Atmocam, 1 spotlight through a canopy gobo cut out, an iRadiance hdr from the latest iRadiance release and 42 emissive iRay Sprites!!! Now at 55% converged, 1day 10hrs 19minutes

Hi, is there going to be a version for Genesis 2 or did I miss this? I've converted many of my Genesis and M4/V4 skins to Genesis 2 so I assume I need a version for G2 for these converted skins?

Well considering all the people asking this question, I am now decided to make something for Genesis 2. So yes there will be a version for Genesis 2 but I have not started it yet.

The script relies on the generation you use it on, so normally it should 'it with on Genesis 2. And you will need a Genesis 2 version of the product to have all the customisation scripts working. Yet, it seems from what I tested this morning that when you use the Genesis main applier, it works with genesis 2 except for the normal maps which are lost and the top coat bump maps which are not placed. I have not looked in detail but I loaded on gia and the result was not so bad. But since all the other scripts do nothing, do not work on genesis 2, it is not interesting to buy it if you're working only with Genesis 2. Except to have one different  converter from the ones you already have but.. is it really necessary when normal maps are missing?

Thanks! That's great news. I only use Gen2 figures now and I've converted all my G1 and M4/V4 skins to G2 so a version for Genesis 2 is necessary I believe.

In cart, are you going to do this set for Genesis 3 as well?

Yes but after Genesis 2 version. G2 figures are pretty  similar between each other in term of methods used for mapping... But things are less clear with Genesis 3 since they were born with  Iray for which, for now, there is no .. how to say.. convergence. .. well this is much well established the way various authors make their skins.  I wait to have more Genesis 3 figures. I think it is better doing so : to have more figures to optimise on, more textures sets to see which are the tendencies in term of gloss, coat, and translucency mapping. Because depending on what type of map is or is not used at some places and the generally used grey levels or colors of these maps, the converter will not be the same.

I prefer not to rush to be the first, and to do the cleanest and most efficient job as possible on this G3 version.

How is it selected to work? I mean if you have a Gen4 figure up ...what do you click on to make this work once installed?

Normally you have to select your generation 4 figure ( the root node, or any node or it or any surface of it ) and double click on the main file  converting the figure. It is the file located at the top of the other folders of the product  (I don't have my computer right now I cannot be more precise now). The only reason it should fail are :  the generation 4 figure is parented to something, you must unparent, or Daz Studio version is bellow 4.8.0.59, you must update to 4.8.0.59 at least.

Once the is done you should be ready to render, except if your figure has specular maps strongly different from the average specular maps from generation 4, but it does not often occur. In this case you have to initialize the gloss weight with the file included. Then you can render or you can prefer to customize a bit more the skin with the other files located in other folders, if you feel like for instance changing the glossy look, Base color or scatter of the figure.  Each time you simply have to select the figure or any part of it, and double click one of the file.

Was it just by curiosity or do you meet an issue?

I wanted to know. I installed the runtime folder but don't know where to look in the daz content folders. Can you give me the directory please? I assume I have to select V4 or M4 to apply them also as you said.

Ah! Ok! So I hope you did not just intalled the one named "runtime", because it is not enough for the product. You have to install the full content of the product, meaning, the folders called "data", "people", and "runtime", (as they are provided either by DIM or by your content library, or even by the cloud for DS 4.9.0.54 public beta).

Then under Daz Studio content folder you installed it into, go under :

    - People:Generation 4:Materials:V3Digitimes Iray Converter For Generation 4 if you are working with generation 4 figures

    - People:Genesis:Materials:Iray Converter for Genesis if you are working with Genesis figures.

This is where you will find the main converter. All the other folders will allow you to optimize or customize the skin if you had special requirements in term of glossy look or translucency effects. (there are three converters for Genesis, you can try the 3 of them).

The info are summarised here :

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/23008/start for genesis figures

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/22869/start for generation 4 figures

    Is it ok for you?

Ok so I should basically just chuck: runtime, people, and data into the usual default 'my library' folder like everything else?  (I am using Daz 4.8)

Yes. The 3 of them directly in "My Library" or any other "Mapped content folder".
