What about an old gas station from the 40th 50th or 60th? Here is an awesome example :) This is a rendered 3Dmodel created by Eugenio Garcia. Found this image while browsing. Such a model would be cool to have for DS

There's a pricey one here I believe one I knew of was a Lightwave model but Carrara and Poser opens them.

also Base camp has the pumps etc

I have the base camp one but it is not exactly what I mean and I have to change to much texture stuff so it would be no base camp gas station but a gas station at a deserted road. The gas station I posted in the image is more what I mean.

I take it this one might just be a bit too abandoned ...?

unfortunatelly yes, a bit to abendoned, it should be old, and less frequented but already in use. A gas station somewhere at a lonely little busy street where only locals would stop but only if they have to because there are rumors about the family that operates the gas station ;) you know? There is an insivible shield saying: Don`t go there.

I doubt this is it, but I like this model, one of the "Movie Sets: City Block" series at Renderosity.  The interior is pretty well done, with a lift in the Bay, etc.

You're reminding me of an idea from one of the (unfortunately) late Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld yarns; a vampire whose spooky old castle is actually named "Dontgonearthe Castle". He has signs up on all the nearby roads (where carriages always somehow manage to break a wheel). With tourist information.

Have had an eye on it but it is not a gas station for a lonely deserted road somewhere in a deserted wilderness. Not the set for a "horror" render like TCM or U-Turn or something like that :)

I'm doing the VFX/compositing for a short film next month that has a scene at an abandoned, roadside gas station. The director says he wants it to look retro old-timey like the Wolfman Scene from "Monster Squad"

    Monster Squad Wolfman/Gas Station Scene:

I was planning on kitbashing it together, but it looks like I ran into the same problem you did when researching it a few weeks ago, and I'm starting to think I may end up putting one together from scratch.

I'm not sure how soon you need this, or if it will be even be what you need, but I'll update this post once I get going on it just in case.

It has time, it just would be cool to have one some day :) and it seems that the gas station in the movie comes nearly to that what I have posted in the image :) so if it looks like that in the video it would be cool :)

I would say the gas station in the movie looks nearly equal to the image :)

I agree, when I saw your image I thought of it right away.  It does make a good horror movie setting.
