Some people fear them, some keep them as pets. No matter how you feel about them, spiders are our friends with how they keep those pesky bugs at bay!
This little critter is fully rigged and comes with a few choices of textures, poses and a tree scene with a web. Out now!

I was lucky enough to play with the garden spider! I loved how it got the creative juices flowing and I am not even a spider lover ;). Can you see the little hair?

  • How does it look if Y-scaled to 0.1%? Just out of curiosity, you understand.

It looks VERY TINY. But just don't zoom in! Does that help?

Tiny is good. Though it was only the Y I was asking about.

Oh dear, Richard - I hope you are not planning to stamp on that poor spider? That's really naughty behaviour, even for a cat!

I am a moron... It just clicked with me! But I'd say yes, DS has the bug squish technology option "built in". (otherwise known as the "Y" slider)

I really like the set! Is the spider's web modelled or a plane with transmap, can anyone tell me? Thanks!

    The spider is amazing!

Would it be possible to release additional insects (mosquito, wasp, cockroach) in the near future?

    [mutters] Spiders are not insects.

Good point, but they are still creepy and that is all that counts ;)

Yes, smoking can be hazardous to your health, for multiple reasons.

Although I like the spider product, I do not like that fact that the poses (walking, climbing, etc.) move the spider back to the world origin. That is generally considered an error. Only scene position poses should move the character. I'm going to submit a help rquest.

    Request #432658 submitted.

Thanks for sharing those epic renders Barbult! I agree with you on the poses, but if I remember it correctly it might have something to do with the hair as I can only save hierarchical poses out and can't specify the XYZ placement. A possible solution could be that I save the poses out on the hairless spider and you have to load the hair in after. Not sure if that will work though but I will have a look at this soon. Now I'm in bed with a warm water bottle as the flu wave has reached our house. :( Might drag the laptop here because I am curious if I can come up with a workaround! Thanks again for sharing the renders!

I have a way too large backcatalogue and I have received more requests for a cockroach. I love working on these little critters and I can't promise anything... I can say that I might have a bug or two, three already passed the modeling stage ;) Thank you so much for your support!
