Moving or translating clothes ?

I have an old Gen2 piece of clothing, somewhat like a skirt. It fits fine on my Gen8, but it sits just 5 inches too low.
Is there any way I can move that piece up? Any way to 'unlock' the translate sliders?
Hidden sliders are all unhidden. But there I can still not move that piece of clothe (as it is) in any direction.

Or can I somehow bake the current fitting morphs to a non-fit version and then move that around in space?

Yes.

You could always parent it, instead of fitting it, which would leave it adjustable and with the original bones rather than projecting in the new figure's bones.
