Cartoon models

Hi all,

I think it would be really, really nice to have a cartoon model inspire in Batman Animated series or Batman Beyond:

You know, thin legs and arms, simply but elegant forms, etc.

For people like me, who likes to make quick sketches or concepts sometimes Genesis 2 / 3 /etc are too realistic or too naive like "Toon Generations".

    Though maybe not exactly what your looking for,  both of these full body morphs for Genesis 2 morphs can help cartoon the shape of the characters.

  • i was thinking the animated morphs as well.

    I dont think we see many stand alone figures on this store anymore, so morphs for Genesis is going to be best shot.

    Animated morph is great. I fact I have it but maybe it's still a little bit complex, or voluptuous if you preffer. I know there is the "child" version with not so many muscles but it's still not "conceptual". I don't know if I'm explain myself right with this but the character designs from Batman Animated Series are exacly what I am trying to say. 

    If it would be a morph would be nice too.

    If you add Smoothing Modifier to your figure you can make it less complicated. Here is Animated Shape Man 100% and Animated Shape upper Body Volume 100% With 6 Smoothing Iterations 0 collision since you don't need it. It works better with high resolution base subdivision 2.

    This should also work with any other morph. So all you really have to do is find the proportions and smoothing willl smooth away all that muscle detail.

    I found out by accident and It was actually a problem. When adding smoothing modifier to have a figure sit realistically I couldn't find out why all my muscle detail was disappearing. Eventually I found that it was the smoothing modifier being too high.

    you have to add it to the figure. there are two ways to do it but here is one. Make sure figure is selected. Above the scene tab there is that menu icon, select that and a menu shows up.

    you can also get to it from the edit menu. Edit either object or figure and same deal. It used to be one less step but not sure when that changed.

  • I like this a LOT. I had never thought of using the smoothing modifier that way (I always use it on clothes). 

    As for the dude above, I suggest making his hands just a little smaller. Other than that, though, I think you've pretty much got it.
