Importing OBJ file - No textures
WARNING: complete newbie!
I have a 3D model in OBJ format which looks fine when import to a program such as Blender, however I decided to try out Daz3D for the first time today but when I import that same OBJ file, I lose all the textures and find myself staring at a plain all white model. What am I doing wrong?

Does the object come with jpg texture files or are they just simply colored areas?
If it has jpg images for the textures, then you will need to select the object, go to the surfaces tab and select the object (or sub-component of the object if there are more than 1 areas) and go to the diffuse setting. Next to the color you will see a little "v" arrow (more like an upside-down triangle) in a little box, click that and select browse at the top of the dropdown.
Browse to where the images for the object are and select the correct one for the area.
also make sure that the OBJ has UV coordinates.
Also make sure you have the .mtl file that should come with it... If you don't have that, DAZ Studio can't find it or if it has been corrupted, Studio won't be able to locate the textures or know where they go... The MTL file is a list of textures, their names and where they are located.
if you generating procedural textures in Blender (or any 3d app) or generating any surface texture that was not performed with an "external" image the export model file they wont export out those types of textures.
If you downloaded a texture from the web, or your camera or you made a texture in Photoshop, etc those should work provided you mapped them correctly in the Blender UV interface. If thats not the case you may want to RESTORE DEFAULTS to your OBJ export options in Blender.
