anyone ever used Branchdur The Tree on DS? [solved]

so, there's a sale on the other site, and i've seen this treant kinda figure i'd like a lot. but it's specified for poser, not tested in DS (but it's not written that it def won't work either).

no DS support offered, no reviews mentioning DS, not one single link on goggle apart from a DA render (and a lot of illegal DL sites). now i don't care about the textures/materials, i can deal with that - but since this tree creature is supposed to move, i'd be really annoyed if none of the ERC works... wouldn't be the 1st time, and it's not a recent product.

anyone here tested this BRANCHDUR?

EDIT: APPARENTLY, THE TREE WORKS FINE IN DS.

One of the comments on that product states "Excellent character. I used the bark shaders for iray available here at Rendo, and I got an amazing looking, believable friend for my forest folk."

So at least one buyer has been using this in DS.

ooops. now this is embarrassing. just what did i read?? i didn't see this comment, and i'm not even sure i saw the others either now. no idea what went down. i'm really distraught anyways but this is a bit...  >_< ~ if memory serves is def an expression i can forget about.

I don't own it so can't tell for sure, but i own the also quite ancient  "weeping willow" from lisa's botanicals (RIP), and the tree is also a *.cr2 file and the poses are also *.pz2 and both work in DAZ (i don't own poser).

Unfortunately, i don't know what ERC means, so maybe this screenshot can help you (i think i used Pose 04):

i really don't think you can extrapole the properties of one product to the other, especially not by another PA, just because it's a cr2. i'm not an expert and i'm not even sure ERC is the right word, what i meant were just morphs, movement stuff. usually poser items (apart from some materials types/files types) work fine in DS, albeit with some easy tweaking, but sometimes everything morph etc just doesn't budge at all. didn't happen very often to me, but when it does it's annoying..

anyways, thanks a lot for replying and helping out with all the pictures ^^

I didn't know you already had experience with old poser stuff, that is why i wanted to show that with .cr2 it is at least possible this information is included and transferable to daz. Now I see you need somebody who really owns this product to be sure...

it's ok now, i ended up messaging the person who commented, as there was this review i missed, and apparently the trees works perfectly in DS morph-wise. should have changed the title here, fell asleep ^^. thx again for looking out! ^^

I've used Lisa's stuff for years and never had a problem with them working in Daz. There might be the odd glitch regarding textures if she uses poser shaders, but that's about it.

I would think you should probably ask if the tree uses Poser weight mapping. Poser weight mapping and DS weight mapping aren't compatible that I'm aware. If the OLD Poser rigging was used you shouldn't have an issue. I see the figure says it's for all the way back to Poser 7 (which didn't have weight mapping yet), but I'd ask just to be sure.

meanwhile i got the answer from another user who said the tree works fine - but thanks anyway for this precious info, so i'll be careful to check that weight mapping for future purchases! i know of some vendors/sites where this is clearly an issue but they do mention it - however not everyone does, so now i know what to look for, thank youj ^^

IIRC, weight mapping did not show up in poser until Poser 9. Anything made for earlier versions should be safe. :)
