DAZ Store bouncing Paypal orders?

I've got an inquiry into PAYPAL about this now, but for two days in a row I have submitted an order to DAZ via Paypal... both charged to the same card. The one send yesterday now says "failed" and the other is stilln pending for over an hour. More key is that, in both cases, the tokens that I applied to the order immediately showed up in my account again as if the order never happened. At the same time, I have used the same Paypal account multiple times at other vendors online without issue, both before and after each of the DAZ transactions. That makes it seem that this is almost certainly a DAZ store generated issue and not a Paypal one. Has this happened to anyone else?

Same, or overlapping, items?
Not this exact issue, but Paypal was definitely having issues yesterday - the login page was not loading at all for me. This was eventually reflected on the Paypal status page later on. So something to do with that may have tripped up your order in a different way.
I have had a "excessive pending" order a month or so ago - but that did eventually complete. Can't remember how long it took but don't think it was as long as an hour.
MIne's now been pending for multiple hours now. Paypal is looking into it, but it really sounds like the problem is on DAZ's end, especially since similar payments to Ebay and Renderosity via Paypal went without a hitch. This is purely my guess, and let me stress that it's just a guess, but I'm thinking that that there are so many discounts layered on top of this sale (8 tokens, a coupon, several orange bars, two flash sales, plus multiples of the usual DAZ get this with that discounts) that the store engine locked up trying to process it when the added complication of Paypal was added in. All of which is incredibly ironic, since I never used to use Paypal here until DAZ started begging everyone to use it instead of direct charges last month. Anyway, since it's a large ticket (nearly $200 after discounts and token) though, I'm putting in a customer service ticket for both this and the one that failed yesterday, and they'd damned well better give me credit for the discout levels that I checked out on. As it is, it's going to be costing DAZ more sales, as I can't buy anything else until the current order finishes, and I have 21 DAZ tokens that'll expire before customer service arrives on Monday...
Since the first sale was listed as Failed under my "Orders" listing and the first order was NOT charged by Paypal, re-purchase on several items, all of which, it should be clear were still showing as unpurchased in the store while the Tokens applied to them hadn't been used. That did cost DAZ a number of sales that were on a flash sale on Friday, so not all were rebought.
....interesting why would Daz encoruage people to not use direct charges? I've been doing so for years.
...thanks. I've been doing direct purchasing for years and never had an issue.
Not made up. As you noted, they did encourage people to use Paypal briefly and actually gave some temporary perks for doing that. That was for a limited time, but once I started doing it that way, I realized that it was one way to reduce my CC numbers exposure on the net, as opposed to letting them be stored on dozens of different stores or constantly re-entering the digits. Given that I've had to replace two of my cards over the last year, once waking up and finding nearly $10 in bogus charges racked up overnight, keeping the new card #'s stored at fewer and only the most secure places has become a rather major item on my agenda.
I didn't either until the last year, but the national statistics show that card theft/fraud has nearly tripled in the last 5 years, from 133,107 reported cases in 2017 to 389,737 in 2022 for just credit cards, with the numbers for debit cards and false electronic transfer numbers even higher.
...I have a form fill behind my firewall and AV so I can just one click and enter my card # instead of hand typing it in all the time. The only thing I have to key in manually is the CVV number. I never save my card number to a site and use very cryptic 16 character passwords for any site I perform transactions on.
Well, I wouldn't know enough to guess where the issue could be but it definitely sounds like something to get the customer service teams involved in. I have been using Paypal with Daz since the beginning and also do try and make use of as many discounts/tokens/promocodes as I can, so while this does make the cart a little sluggish I don't think that doing this is so unusual. Hopefully they will get it resolved for you on Monday, if not before.
I can imagine how frustrating it is, but on the one instance I had to contact them to restore some tokens that were prematurely lost they were happy to put them back so I am sure they will resolve that situation for you once they have got to the bottom of the issue.
