Log file reads:
*** Scene Cleared ***

I'm sure the solution to this is supremely simple, as i am brand new to the program.
I downloaded the rustic exteriors set, went into the products subfolder in daz 4.8, and double clicked on one of the new items i installed.
The BASIC items load just fine. The stuff that won't load is the items which are preset to different color textures.
So i guess i am missing something obvious that allows me to do so, i just don't know what it is, since i am so new to this.
Thanks.

The presets arent actually an item they apply a setting to the basic item.
To get it to work you load your basic item first ,
then select it in the scene tab,
then you can go to the preset that changes the colors and click it to apply to the basic item.
Well I am trying to open a complete file, and it gives the same error.
This is wat I am trying to open:
http://www.daz3d.com/growing-up-for-genesis-3-female-s?utm_source=bm23&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Image+-+New+from+Zev0,+Growing+Up+for+Genesis+3.+Punch+up+and+save!&utm_content=Growing+Up+For+Genesis+3!!!&utm_campaign=(12-18-15)+Growing+Up+For+Genesis+3!!!
I am completely new in DAZ3D, so, please be more specific so I can understand how to open this file! :( Thanks in advance!
Did you have the Genesis 3 base figure loaded and selected? Growing Up is an addon - new morphs (which load automatuically with the figure) and presets for setting those and some other paramaters to get different ages.
First, load a Genesis 3 Female character, then on the "Scene" tab select your character.
Now, either on the "Parameters" pane or the "Shaping" pane there should be some new sliders you can adjust to add or subtract the growing up morphs.
I don't have this morph set, so I don't know what the individual morphs will be called, but you should be able to see them on one of those two panes with your character selected.
And there are presets...
The sliders are shown in the promo shots.
you're right :)
I should have pointed out how to apply a preset as well
Once you have your character selected in the "Scene" tab, double click the preset to apply it to the character.
You use this same technique to apply a preset to any item.
Select the item in the scene tab then double click the preset to apply it.
hope this helps out :)
