DS crashing PC during Iray Renders

Hi guys & gals, I'm hoping someone can help me please?

Whenever I run an Iray render, it gets to the end of the render and then my system turns off.

I can render fine in 3Delight but when trying to render off my new character in Iray, this happens every time. I had been able to get a few reasonable renders, though they weren't very high quality. And now I can't render using Iray at all :(

Any suggestions please?

    It is when it gets to the end, you are sure? Are you using the GPU or only the CPU? What GPU do you have? Are the drivers up to date, and has it recently been updated?

    yep, sat and watched it tonight using a clean scene, a different character, clothes, hair and lights. I have to use CPU only as I do not have an nvidea graphics card. I think the drivers are up to date, nothing has changed recently that I know of.

    GPU is Asus R9 270X DirectCU II TOP 4GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card

    It will also do it if the render is over 60% done and I cancel the render too :(

    OK, go to C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4, open the log.txt file and paste the last hafl-dozen or so lines here. (AppData is hidden by default - depending on your version you may need to go to the Folder Options applet or use the option on the ribbon bar to see it.)

    So, the log file stops before the end of the render - that's interesting. Does it crash if you just plunk a cube promitive in an otherwise empty scene? If so, one possibility that occurs to me is that it is having trouble accessing the temp folder to write the render - go to Edit>Preferences and change the location of the temp folder, then try rendering again.

    well, I tried this after changing the temp file and it worked. So I'm going to try a character again and see what happenes :)

    ok, so I managed to do a render using a figure, basic settings. I wanted to up the quality so I turned up the max time to 3 hours from 2 and it shut down again. I have moved my temp folder and uodated my graphics driver to the most recent version available.

    So, I'm going to try 1 more render at the default settings and see what happens. I'm really not sure about the quality of the attached as whether I could use it for promo purposes?

    So, I've tried rendering again at the defult settings and that seems to work. But changing those settings in any way means the PC dies at the end of the render :(

    Any ideas please?
