Do I have one of my preferences set incorrectly? Some hair styles show up in Iray view looking smokey. When they render, they render solid, but I'd like to see what they'll look like before I hit the render button.
Here's a screenshot of what https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-tara-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-females looks like in Iray view.
and here's what it looks like when it renders:
There are other hairstyles I've had this issue with, this one is just the latest. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Yes, it's a strand-based hair... you don't have a 'full-preview' because the hair line are not generated with default parameters. You may set as below:
Thank you.
crosswind, I was going to suggest another explaination for the smoke, but I think yours is probably the correct one.![cheeky cheeky](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/tongue_smile.png)

Sometimes it depends but we judge it case by case.
It's a nice song indeed (400+Mils views) but I even don't know who the singer is...Maybe I'm too old... ![blush blush](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/embarrassed_smile.png)

I didn't know who sang it till I looked up the song, but I'll be honest, it seems like I hear that song 400 million times a day on the radio.
