UV Mapping Question

Is it possible to create a new UV map for a figure with altering the existing one? Here is a picture of my goal. all I did was create a new surface region for Gen. Do I want to save that as a seperate character or as something else?

I'm not sure I understand what you want to do. The UV map is simply the figure geometry laid out in 2d fashion in order to tell the rendering software how to project images on a 3d surface. Perhaps you want to create a new material preset?
Do you want this new surface to be available whenever you use Genesis, or do you just want this particular character to have it? If it's just for this particular character, save it as a scene subset.
