almost white figure in perspective view

I loaded G3F figure and it's nearly white when setting the perspective view as "smooth shaded" or "wire shaded".

Is there an easy way I can ge this to be more grey? I'm having one heck of a time seeing musculature morphs. I need the shadows in the view so I can tell what's going on.

Mine doesn't seem to be very bright loading the default figure with no lights in the Scene.   Are you using lights?

Select the figure in the Scene pane, go to the Surfaces pane, select Surfaces on the left hand side, and then change the Diffuse colour  to say, 128.128.128, that should darken it down a bit.   Or turn down the Diffuse Strength.

  • It may be the shader used - if DS reads the SSS effect as Ambient in the preview it may apply that even in Smooth Shaded.

  • I solved my problem by setting up a spotlight (turns off the headlamp apparently), and positinoing it such that I can see the shadows I need to see for morphing.

    Thanks
