Farrington is in New Hampshire, so I don't think they'll have a problem with self defense issues.
I hope you're not too disappointed, but, except for a short coda, this is about it for "Sophia." Then on to new storylines!
On to bigger and better things for our heroes.
No matter how interesting or compelling the villain, there comes a time when they need to be put aside (at least for a while if not permanently). Many good series have fallen apart because of a refusal to move on from a dynamic villain. Plus, if you find yourself thinking "I can't get rid of this villain... they're the most popular part of the series!", then you've already messed up!
Sophia's been a firecracker of an antagonist, but she's done about everything she can do here unless you want to push this story into psycho-thriller territory, which I believe is far from what you want. I'm ready for new and different storylines and I expect everyone else is too.
Given the title of the series, I'm hoping for a storyline that features Charlotte in a more central role. Something where she's initiating the story beats rather than constantly reacting to other people's problems. Although, she does come off as a bit of a "fixer" so maybe solving/resolving other people's issues is her destined role. Anyway, I'm sure it will be great!
Thanks so much for your comment, bugbear. The "Sophia" story arc is concluding as I planned, and it will be fun to go back and look at the whole thing to see how it holds up. I agree, and was frustrated that Charlotte had a seemingly passive role in the story, but I think the characters are interesting enough to overcome that, at least in this story.
Thanks for your kind words.
The final chapter of "Sophia" is up. New story coming soon. I hope you enjoy.

I love me some quiet, low-key, epilogue!
Also, Charlotte's expression in panel 11 (bottom of page 5, "You're gonna feel a whole lot of sadness in your life...") is very well done.
Thanks so much, bugbear!
Here's a preview of the new visual style I'm using for the comic going forward. Would love feedback.
Thanks!
Starting a new story today. Going forward, I will be posting smaller sections on a weekly basis. I hope you enjoy.

It's a dangerous job. Great start for the new seaosn.
It is a good start. Think Charlotte & Kurt deserve a break, though. In some ways I feel you (the story writer) are acting like a malevolant presence, just out of sight, saying 'What else can I make go wrong for them?'.
Regards,
Richard.
Edited for tripe writing error.
Sometimes I think that in order to write a compelling story, you need to hate your characters.
I'm not serious, of course, but you do need to hurt them sometimes. A certain amount of callousness might help.
Anyway, I'm sure Charlotte and Kurt got at least one afternoon of peace after the last saga. Maybe enough for a quick shopping trip to Target and dinner at Denny's...
Both story and character are driven by conflict.
And you need situational events to maintain the reader's interest.
Onward good sir...
Well, conflict is the essense of storytelling. Who would read if they just took pleasant walks in the park? But I promise, no matter what challenges they face, they'll always end up wrapped around each other. That's the magic!
They don't like Denny's. They prefer Bob Evan's.
It is dangerous, and that's the theme of the story. Can Charlotte cope when the danger is real?
I know it's a requirement of story telling, but Kurt & Charlotte are nice people & it's hard not to want them to have a happy and uneventful life. That could end up with a rom-com type story rather than a slightly more 'adventurous' type story.
Regards,
Richard
I can't promise the "uneventful life," but there are some gentler stories coming in the future. My favorite chapters in "Sophia" were the one-on-one's between them. I want to do more stories like that.
Thanks for your continued interest, Richard.
Latest installment of "Panic Time" is up. Hope you enjoy.

Yup, that episode ends with a typical level of helpfulness. Not in the UK are you?
Like the posing, as usual you've got it spot on.
Regards,
Richard.
Nope, not in the UK. I've personally never had this level of trouble dealing with hospital personel, but I've never spoken to anyone in "Maintenance and Sanitation" either.
