how do you edit a clothing texture map when it doesn't show up on L.I.E?

So I have a pair of bikini bottoms which I want to edit in the L.I.E but for some reason the usual material layout does not show up on the base colour in the surfaces menu. How can I edit it? I find this is sometimes the case with other clothing items too.

    Well, the texture is there somewhere, so you just have to find it cheeky

    It could be in Diffuse Overlay, or dependant on what the effact are, it might be elsewhere e.g. metallic weight.

    Maybe if you told which clothing item and/or showed an image people might better help you.

    You could else go to the texture folder for the clothing (can be found from any image in the surface tab), and then the image likrly will be there.

    K I have added a screenshot. Normally the texture map would show up on the base colour but as you can see its not there. I have also opened the textures folder for the item but I really don't know what one to pick out of the list. Thx for your help so far.

    on the screenshot i can see that you have selected all surfaces at once (all yellow). This can work, if all use the same texturemap. try selecting only one surface at the time, for example click at bottom_tie. can you see now a basecolor map?

    EDIT: If NOT, then basecolor is only used to provide a color to the surface and you would have to edit another map like the normal map to achieve whatever changes you would like to make. As i don't know what your aim is, it is hard to tell you how to continue.

     Sorry for late reply. So I am basically trying to put a logo in the middle of her bottoms like on the main black area but as there is no map I cannot navigate where to put it at all (pictured).

    I understood it as there already was a loge (or other pattern) you wanted to change.

    If it is just just a base color you can still easily modify it.

    Options:

    A) Modify Base Color to a LIE. Base layer set the color as now used in base color, and set base color to white. How large you make it depends on how many details you want in your LIE. And then add your logo as a new layer.

    B) Keep Base Color and add you Logo in Diffuse Overlay (will only be visible when rendered).

    Both requires that the clothing is UV unwrapped. Can be checked if you select a surface and set viewport to UV. Then you should see the geometry projected to a flat plane. The UV will determine where your logo shall be placed.

    You have a template at

    \DAZ\MyRenderosity Library\Templates\CCox\80s Rad Swimwear\80s Rad SwimwearUVs.png

    Load this into a layered graphics editor like gimp or photoshop.

    Create a new transparent layer above that template and import the logo and place it where you want it to be.

    Delete the layer with the template. Create a new layer under the logo - layer and fill it with the color you want the rest of bottom surface to have.

    Export as .png and load into the base color slot.

    You should be done.

    adding to the good tutorial above   Give it a unique name and save in the same texture folder as the original if you can. (just makes it easier to find)  Use the surfaces tab to navigate to the newly made png and laod. Hopefully the original bump, displacement  and normal maps will interact nicely with your newly created base color texture.  Render to check.
