Thanks. Don't know why I never think of them ...
Pentonville Cell has a Bible, but it's hard cover.
Not a bible, but it's a softcover:

@WillowRaven, have you looked at https://www.daz3d.com/modern-book-prop-pack ? Could you take a paperback version of a book and give it a soft leather cover and in Photoshop/GIMP place the words 'Bible' on it or whatever version of words you need on it?
I didn't think hardcover books were allowed in prisons. Maybe because it's possible to smuggle something inside the cover?
The introduction of paperback books is fairly recent. Paperback books were invented in 1841, but became popularised in the UK from 1934 onwards (Albatross then Penguin in 1935). So, in the Ness 1840's Victorian prison cell, it's highly unlikely that the bible would have been a paperback. Also, it's unlikely it would have been supplied by the prisoner's family - the poor were more likely to be prisoners and less likely to be able to afford a book of any sort.

The Prison Mission Bible Society, co-founded by Wilberforce, provided Bibles for prisoners in England from the early 1800's until today.
I've been using this one: https://grabcad.com/library/holy-bible-biblia-sagrada-1
Whoops. I guess it is hardcover. But It might pass for soft cover from a distance. It does have that leathery look to it regardless.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but I included a bible in my Motel Room freebie, there is a zeroed version of it. It's just a prop and doesn't open, but it's a plain Gideon's type bible. I can't upload an image, but here's simple render in my DA Stash: https://sta.sh/0vwu0mrb6v4.
This may be way too late for your project @WillowRaven, but if anyone is looking for books with that soft, worn, leather cover that is not otherwise noted wih a title, there are two different large books in he set, https://www.daz3d.com/cottage-living-room . I am clueless as how possible it would be to add a title to them in Photoshop or GIMP, but they are nice as a starting point.

Found another Holy Bible published by Oxford 1917 in https://www.daz3d.com/precinct-props it is a hardback, looks like leather with a Celtic Cross on the front. Set by Jack Tomalin and is a DAZ+ item. The set looks to be from around the 1940s/50s.
Found this free texture for an inexpensive book. Unfortunately the texture is non-commercial use only, so not sure if that suits your needs. I'm thinking I may use Precinct Props (which it turns out I already had but didn't know there was a Bible in it) and kinda jerry-rig it so the front looks like it's attached to the HLA Book. I may try and make a Bible texture for it later, and if I do, I'll try to make sure I share it here.
You could also try scanning or taking a picture of a Bible, then using GIMP to apply it to The Fairytale Book.
I realize all of these are hardcover, but w/ the right texturing and maybe a little dform morphing, you might be able to make it appear soft.
"not vampiry" made me laugh.
