Confused About Required Products

I would like to get the Mei Lin 6 Geisha Bundle. It says Mei Lin 6 is a required product.

However, Mei Lin 6 is based off Genesis 2. Similar characters I've purchased are merely tweaked versions of a base character.

So I don't understand why the Geisha product needs Mei Lin when it's really an adjusted Genesis 2.

Basically the Mei Lin character is a set of specialised morphs which turn G2F into that character.  Mei Lin 6 Geisha Bundle. Includes: Mei Lin 6 Geisha Make-ups, Peony Kimono for Genesis 2 Female(s), Megumi Hair, Geisha Prop Collection, China Doll Poses for Mei Lin 6. It doesn't include the morphs which are included in Mei Lin Base and also in the Mei Lin starter and Pro bundles

Could I then use the Geisha bundle on "East Asia for Genesis 2?" That is a much cheaper option.

Yes.  but you wouldn't have the Mei Lin shape   Also Mei Lin has her own UV map, so the makeups may not work properly.

The make-ups may also be set to blend with the default Mei Lin textures, in which case if the make-up edge doesn't coincide with the surface boundary you will get an odd change of skin between the boundary and the edge of the make-up using other textures.
