Don't know if this is COMPLETELY appropriate, but... how about a thread on weird RL stuff that can inspire cool renders?

I'll start... apparently 400 million years ago, the land was dotted by 20+ foot tall... mushrooms. No plants were more than a foot or two high, in comparison.
