Unable to turn on Shadows

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Hi! Just migrated over to a Macbook from PC...

and when I place any light--point, spot, distant--I am unable to turn shadows on or off. The Shadows menu is in italics and shows no sliders or anything when I click on it. Can someone tell me what to click to get going again (I'm sure it's obvious and I'm just silly).

    That's a photometric light , so the shadow options aren't used when iray is selected as the render engine.

    Switching over to 3Delight will turn those options back on. :)

    I don't seem to have 3Delight as an option in this drop down. Any idea what I should do?

    3Delight and iray are both installed by default.

    The screen crop you have shows you are on the "Presets" tab of the Render Settings.

    Switch that back to "Editor" and it's in the dropdown menu at the top marked "Engine"
