shadow

Hi everybody-!!!

I have, for a short aniamtion, a female face, and on it, a sort of snake... I want the snake beiing invisible at the beginning, then appearing quickly ... so, I use in the material shannel a value mixer in the alpha channel, and , ok, the snake is visible, or not, with nthe value cursor... BUT the shadow of the snake is always visible, even when it is invisible!!! how to get invisible the shadow, too??? thank you for help, guys!

I just did a couple of tests, and the only way I have been able to make that happen is to uncheck the "Light through Trans." option in the Raytracing settings. Make sure this is checked!

    Check the Light through Trans.

  • Maybe I don't understand your problem properly but when using the "pure" alpha channel without a mixer everthing works fine. (test: ball moving from right to left - no shadow in the right half)

You can always use the "visible" checkbox in the "general" panel - it can be animated, just insert a keyframe in the sequencer and check/uncheck it.
