4k moniter and daz studio

just wondering i guess it seems the best solution is getting windows 10 as it works better with 4k moniters and UI scaling. But with daz studio does the resolution you select in Diminsion preset and pixel size in the render settings change the resolution when using the active viewpoint for say iray in the window?
i.e. so if my desktop is at 4k and i set the render size to be 720p will the active viewport output be at 720P instead of 4k. that way it woudnt slow things to a crawl by rendering the viewport to 4k unless i state it to do so?
thanks.

Unless you have actually detached the 'active viewport' it just fills the area that is left when menus, timelines and tabs have taken up screen space.
It changes constantly as tabs are opened and closed and stretched etc. Any dimensions you typed in render settings are ignored when you switch to Active Viewport.
What you can do is use the Aux. Viewport for Iray and shrink that to a size your system can handle.
Leave the active viewport as a conventional display and leave the render settings at your required dimensions to a window or file.
(now to be honest im using the DSR mode of the nvidia driver to test out 4k while i dont yet have the 4k moniter just yet) but it seems most other programs ive tried scales pretty well in 4k with some size tweaking but Daz Studio oddly enough does not.........which to me would seem to be one of the programs that SHOULD properly scale at 4k ...........is there a way to change the interface to scale better? or a request to have 4k support soon ? (considering ironically you can RENDER to 4k)
thanks! Im on Windows 10.
Hi Evenios,
I just upgraded my primary system to one with a 4K UHD display and noticed that, DAZ Studio 4.8 does not scale at all. The interface is incredibly tiny, and I am forced to use the WIndows Magnifier to see parts of the interface. I was a litle suprised, as Carrara 8.5 (my primary applicaiton) did blow up to 4K. Granted Carrara is quite blurry blown up, but at least I can read it. Studio, is too tiny :-(

well it really is in my opinon rediclous that it doesnt properly scale to 4k considering the fact that there is an option to RENDER in 4k ........sighs. guess if i want to do work on it for now ill just have to chagne moniter resoluton to lower then back. lol sucks.............please update this daz!
i want to make this an offical request to add support for 4k scaling with windows 10 at least in the near future.......considering the fact that you can render to a 4k photo it seems crazy that Daz studio still does not have proper 4k interface scaling support........thought id post it here so more might see thanks!
anyone else who agrees sign below! :-).
It can render up to 10,000 pixels square - larger sizes are needed for print, it doesn't imply the application should adapt to a 10K display.
Merged three threads on the same topic.
true but considering 4k moniters are on the market and now getting cheaper and the fact that im sure many graphics artists will or soonish have one. it would be NICe if daz studio in the near future had support for ui scaling ot it. Just saying.
I have a dim memory of one of the devs posting to say they were aware of the issue.
I'll be interested in it eventually, but not considering 4k until Nvidia's next atchitecture is released next year - I'm thinking late next year is when 4k will really start to go mainstream.
Although considering 4k is 8 million pixels(ish); I use 2 x 2560x1440 which is about 7 million. Still I'd like it to get more mature yet, and certainly if I use my two current monitors as secondary ones to a 4k main. But count me in as interested. :)
I have a 4k monitor and run DS on it. Biggest problem is that the text size on the UI seems to be fixed, so all the text is very small.....hard to read small. I don't know of a way to change the font size for the DS UI, but if there is, someone please tell me!
