Set shortcut for action dialog

Is there a standard way to show a dialog for setting a shortcut for a script or is everyone rolling their own?

I thought I saw a script or turorial around at some point but I cannot find it.

Edit: Just to clarify, I know how to set a shortcut via script, I was hoping there was a dialog already built in, or documented, to ask for the actual key combination and then set it.

    What do you mean? If you mean like the prompt in Window>Workspace>Customise you would need to roll your own.

    Yes, that is what I meant. I'll try something out, I guess I'll finally will have to deal with a background process so I can capture the key combination D:
