is there a way to export as an stl file?  tried a few diff converters but no matter what file format I save/export the file as they wont work..

 

probably something I'm doing as I really have no clue...

 

any info/ideas/help would be great

    I usually just export to an obj file then convert it.  My slicer programs will open an obj or I use modo or Meshlab to import and export if I need to keep the size correct.

    STL export was in Carrara Pro back a few versions ago, but it was removed as an option.

    The free version of Netfabb is really useful. It will import an OBJ (or other mesh, quite a few formats are supported) and it can check for and fix many common errors.
