Dynamic Clothing in DAZ

Hi,

Does a product like https://www.daz3d.com/dynamic-empire-dress-for-v4 work in DAZ, or requires Poser Cloth Room?

Many thanks!

Out of the box it will be a static prop in DS.

Some work well when converted to dForce, but there's no guarantee.

Edit: looking at threads referencing that product, it seems it plays rather well with dForce: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3417041/#Comment_3417041

I have converted poser dynamic V4 dresses to G8F dForce a number of times, always with success. You can convert using the relevant RSSY converter, or use a timeline drape to move the figure from V4 to G8F (this assumes you have a V4 clone for G8F).

Since the dresses are designed to work dynamically then they tend to work well in dForce, ie they are likely not that high poly, and will be a properly welded mesh that will not fall apart during simulation.

  • @leana, @havos, that gives me some ideas to try out.  Thank-you both!

  • Not sure of this but when they say Daz dynamic, I think they're talking about the dynamic plugin that use to be the big new thing in Daz several years ago, Opitex was the one making all the clothes for it.
