Orphan Files Daz 4.9

I have a number of these; I tried removing them from the database, by using the content database option in smart content, they're still there.

A simple right click and remove would be best imo.

That are old "user-end" duf file ghosts for ones that either got renamed or moved (even from within the DAZ Studio App) in the near, or far, past, and are stored mostly in the "Default" category "Lost and Found". Although CMS has the option to clean up the database by removing "orphaned file references", that doesn't always seem to work as intended (if ever). Orphan files are pretty useless. I had a bunch of those myself and found out, that you can delete those without harm. If you had renamed (or moved) some, the duf file with the new name you gave to it is sill residing at the place you originally saved it to/moved it to, and they're those "blank" dufs that doesn't wear a "content type" image, like "Actor/Scene/Script/Pose" etc.

In my case the Orphans all bear the name I originally saved them with, and CMS seems to have lost track of the renaming/moving procedure.

It's getting rid of them that is annoying me. I can't.

    On Daz 4.9pro

    For future reference.

Open up the Categories tree in Content Library pane. The categories mirrors the smart content files pane.

Scroll and find the file in content library pane. Right click and select Remove Orphaned Reference.
