How to split a dock area?

I'm trying to setup 4.9 beta and I cannot figure out how to change the UI so that the dock container on the left side.  I'm using City Limits Lite, and it loads the right hand side split with Aux Viewport, Scene, and Environment tabs, the divider then Parameters and the rest of the tabs.  I try to drag and drop the Scene tab over to the upper left and it either floats undocked or it docks the tab with Content Library.  I had managed to do this in 4.8 but can't seem to recall what I did to move it.

  • You should see a highlight line (in the style's highlight colour) above the group when you have the mouse in the right place.

Sorry, the screenshot is 4.8 - but it looks the same in 4.9, I just checked. Do make sure that Window>Workspace>Lock Docking/Undocking isn't checked.

  • Richard, thanks for the screenshot.  I tried moving that divider bar but it just shows I can move it vertically inside the pane group on the right.  Whenever I try to drag it over to the content library on the right, nothing happens.  Here's what my 4.8 layout looks like that I'm trying to create.

  • Drag the pane (by its tab) out of the group and then drop it in the new position - that is what i was doing. The divider is just that, a control for the relative proportions of the two pane groups.
