Zack 9

  • Cheapest I'm seeing for the Pro bundle, Door Buster, & four add-ons (which seems to be the constellation for activating the discounts) is $60.63, or $36.57 with eight tokens.

And as I don't have any use for a Peter Dinklage or Willem Dafoe lookalike, it looks like this one's a "No" (barring some deal later that makes it worthwhile for the hair).
  • I have the Pro Bundle in cart for $30.71 (no PC+ coupon, full tokens). One does not need the add-ons IMO to trigger further discounts but should use "ZACK-9" code to get some addons for free.

Great character, weak bundle because it's redundant of what's already been done. Way, way, way overpriced. I have no tokens because everything is way overpriced. You can't earn tokens if there is no incentive to buy.

I like his body sculpt, I don't think we have that body shape yet, and it's not something I could easilly dial up. I'll probably just grab him and not the bundle.

You guys will have to post some test tenders for me, I'm on holiday. At the beach!

I quite like the way genesis 9 is going from the daz originals.

Genesis 8 felt like the only question was "which ethnicity of supermodel would you like and what lingerie do you want them to be wearing?"

However while Gen9 does still have an abundance of such models they seem much less afraid to add nuance and little imperfections to the characters that make them look that little bit more believable as if they could be real people.

Can't get good enough cart with him, maybe there's extra incentive during the weekend or next week.

So where are the alternate shapes?

An interesting and versatile character, but I have enough older Generation 9 men in my library by now, and the Alternate Shapes do not contain 'younger' morphs, like the females' (why actually?). In the 'small' version, the head looks a bit strange; as if it were too big for these proportions, or artificially put on; I don't know. Maybe it's only the promo pics.

In the Pro Bundle, Redz's hair is nice; the rest is largely uninteresting to me.

Have you purchased the bundle and not received them?

I purchased the pro bundle. From the advertisement, I thought I needed to add them before I checked out. But then I looked at the Zack 9 product and I thought the the shapes were included, so I checked out. On my product page, I see 3 products that have shape in the name. One is buff shape, elder shape and I forget what the other one was. I'm thinking it tis those.

I picked him up for the clothing and his accessories. Although the hood of that dforce hoodie looks bad. Wish we'd return to conforming clothing. thin dforce stuff lacks realism and it's strange to see a realistic model in unrealistic clothing.

I'm not really a fan of characters inspired by popular actors. I do think the shorter morph will be useful though. Will test later tonight.

I'm wondering why they're being treated differently too. I love the younger; older morphs. I render my custom women at various life stages and the way morphs work as a good base to dial in different periods of their lives. They're very similar, but there's enough of them and enough variation that I can use a different younger; older base morph on each custom character to represent characters that have aged slightly differently. The only problem is that similar options for the men who've aged with them are limited!

Less interested in men getting buff alternate shapes instead. There are plenty of buff shapes that can be dialed in, imo. I really hope there's equivalence between the sexes going forward on alternate shapes. If that means including a buff shape for women in addition to a young shape, I won't complain! But it feels like the whole "women cute, high heels; men strong, boots" thing that we sadly get too much of.

Yes, Daz often (not always) follows very outdated, very conservative role models. And this is not made any better by handing a gun to a 'sexy' dressed-up girl in high heels and letting her pose with it. The fact that there are no age morphs for men is another point: women have to be as young as possible; for men this is supposedly not important. But at least older women have been allowed to appear in Daz since Genesis 8. That is progress that has to be acknowledged.

I picked him up because he looks good, but the bundles don't have much to interest me.

As a counterpoint, I'm glad that we're getting more schlubby dudes.

i'll be buying the character. I like that this type of 'aged' face has not been done.

Seriously, William DeFoe and Peter Dinklage don't look anything alike, but you can make either from Zack9!? Damned bloody impressive! laugh

I'm leaning more toward Willem DeFoe. I don't think he looks as much like Dinklage. ;)

Mark Ruffalo came to my mind

Poor guy didn't get any renders for his own release thread, so here's some belated ones from me now I'm home from holidays. I wish I had his bundle to so I could play with his mysterious alt shapes, which I don't believe are shown on the pro bundle product page.

(Unless I get a good stack of discounts the pro bundles are a bit out of my reach with the Australian dollar being so low :( But the slicked back hair, outfit and tattoos looked really good)

I've swaped out the eyebrows and used the HD version with the veins in all of these.

    Romance cover tests:

Now I need to write a gentle sci-fi little person love story.

Looks like he could do romcom.

If anyone has the alt shapes please render them for me!

Doing a little thread necromancy to note this issue I ran across. There's something weird about the Zack 9 Elder shape that it deflates the appearance of the body but in a way that Daz doesn't seem to properly. acknowledge. Here, I have Zack 9 HD to which I applied the Outlaw Suit pants and Genesis 9 Hair:

Same, after applying Zack 9 Elder HD at 100%

Note how the body hair and pants continue to conform to the non Elder shape.

  • I see this too, which is off as AutoFollow is cetainly enabled for the body morph itself and that seems to be the shape (the sub-components are all joint centres or CBMs for adjusting bends). Please report this to Tech Support.
