Duplicate IDs

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Hi all,

I have a character with an item of clothing that causes the scene load to pause while warning about duplicate IDs. It also suggests that I look in the log file for more info.

Questions are: Where is the log file so I can look at it and what can I do to remove the dup ID fault?

    The log file for DAZ Studio can be found in Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File.

    The Duplicate ID problem was fixed long ago I think, and I have not seen it for some time.   What item are you getting this with, and do you keep your products up to date with DIM?

    Hi Jimmy,

    It is caused by Pants.dsf, part of the Bobbie25 B25Genesis Scout outfit.

    Does that help? I have now looked at the log file (thanks, couldn't find it myself for looking) and found this:
    Duplicate id "Pants" found in file "/data/Bobbie25/B25Genesis Scout/B25GSPants/Pants.dsf"

    Presumably it's an error in the file itself?

    That is quite an old item now, so it may have been updated.   Can you redownload and install the item from your Product Library (to get the latest version), and see if that fixes it?
