Plastic-y skin from shading

Hi everyone,

so I am super new to daz still; but I've been starting to turn on my creative brain and play. I've been looking through tutorials and instructions and started to play with lights. I've got a render *see attached* that I'm happy with *overall* except for the skin (and the hair but that's a garibaldi setting thing I just have to figure out for dark hair).  The skin away from the light looks more natural, but closer it's all rubbery and plastic. Looks too rigid.

Light source: pointlight I lined up with the lightsaber. (that's it, just the one)

model: gen2male with phillip vascularity turned on.

Can anyone give me advice on how to get the skin looking softer, more natural? (I'm rendering with 3delight because garibaldi hair doesn't render with iray)

Try going to the surface tab and select the character,on the right the second one down says lighting model.  It defaults to plastic for some reason. Use the drop down box and change it to skin to see if that helps.  or matte
