Editing Weight Maps in Daz Studio 4.8, after using Transfer Utility

Hi Guys,
I could use some help. How do I fix this weight map issue ~ I created a dress model in Zbrush, and imported it into Daz, used the transfer Utility to get the dress to comform to the Model, but after all is done, the bottom part of the dress looks weird, I have tried to use the smooth brush in the tool settings to get the polys to look better but I don't seem to be getting anywhere... normally when I paint weights in Max or Maya, I can see the model updating in realtime but I don't see that happening in Dax Studio 4.8. What am I missing, does anyone have a good video showing how I can fix my weights?

Are you sure those are weight-map issues? Is the figure morphed at all? Did you model around the base shape, or around a morph and then use Reverse Source Shape from Target?
I am thinking that the transfer utility somehow didn't do a good job of blending the weights well ~ I am not sure what you mean by modeling around the base shape ~ what I did was export the genesis model and use that as a guide to create the dress, then I brought the dress back to Daz studio and used the transfer utility to get the dress to work with the character ~ the top part looks great, but it's the bottom part between the legs that is not looking great ~ and when I try to edit the weights, I am not getting any response or seeing an improvement on those stretched polys
I have attached an image of the dress right before I use the Transfer Utility
What does the full model look like in ZBrush? Modeling around the base means you create the clothing over the base model, the figure you exported from Daz Studio. It kinda sounds like that is what you did.
Weight-maps are for posing - if the figure is still unposed then the issue can't be the weight maps. That's why I was asking if there was a morph applied. If you are working with Genesis and have a female shape applied then there is a morph. You appear to be correctly reversing that from the model, judging by your screen-shot, but then DS is applying the morph anew and the problems in the hip and between the legs are fairly typical - one option is to load the original dress model as a morph to match the shape used (if it was a single morph).
Hi Chris, yes, that's what I did
the dress is a new model, and not based on another model ~ I created it from scratch use the genesis model as a base ~ I have also tested with Animate2 and I see the dress moving correctly, what I am trying to figure out is how to fix those stretched polys, because when I look at other dresses that come with Daz Studio, they don't have that issue of stretched polys between the legs...
here are some more screen grabs including the one from Zbrush ~ how can I fix those stretched polys?
You need to select the polygons down the centre, and some to either side, with the Polygon Selection Tool. Right-click and lock the unselected polygons. Switch to the Node Weight Brush tool, select each leg weight map in turn in the Tool Settings pane, and right-click and select Smooth. A bit of epxeriemntation will be needed to get the right vlaue for smoothing, but that should help.
thanks Richard, let me give that a try and revert
So I tried what you suggested Richard, but the model and the polys still look the same, I have attached a screen grab ~ I have tried different levels of smoothing but to no avail, I notice some smoothing but the poly assignement doesn't seem to be changing.. and the appearance is still stretched, any thoughts?
thoughts anyone?
