I'm sure there must be a way to change the code to something more to what the end users are requesting.  Most forum software is quite modular

I believe they're using CKEditor version 4.4.7; I'm not sure what's involved with adding emojis in the current version but hopefully it's as simple as it is with version 5 (if it's not, I don't see them paying to upgrade). I know with version 5 it's a matter of adding this code and all the emojis they enter in the list would show up in the Omega character dropdown in the editor box:

I'm not sure why DAZ has those HIDIOUS emoticons.  Why can't they just implement the emoticon data base that most forums, phones and everything else the world uses?  I speak in emoticon too and really really hate having to use these ugly and limited ones here.

I would really be happy with just having more options! laugh  I totally get what you're saying though! heart

WOW!!! smiley You've even given the code to do it! heart Should be easy now! laugh

<-------- I think that is my most used emoji in other locations... and it's animated. I literally see it in my mind sometimes when I read certain posts. (Hope it shows up.. I can see it before I post)

image  Well.. there's a screenshot.. I guess it didn't work.

You can never have too many emojis.

The Egyptians tried that.  Worked for a while but then they discovered that if you used the symbols as sounds instead of ideas, it was a lot more flexible and extendible.  Yes more emojis permit more subtle meanings, but there's a point of diminishing returns as the table of emojis grows unwieldy.frown

And yet over a billion Chinese people (and hundreds of millions of Japanese people) are able to communicate with thousands of characters that are semantic rather than phonological.

Hmmm, what's the singular of emoji, emojum?surprise

Emoji is a Japanese word, and Japanese words are rarely pluralized. If we were to be incredibly literal, it would be "emoji-tachi", but in practice the plural of emoji is emoji.

Hmmm, maybe me too...? No, I just don't like it. That's allowed, isn't it? Besides, the forum won't be getting any new emojis any time soon anyway, I'm afraid.

  • I wanted to add that I'd LOVE to have some emojis available to us as a way to respond to posts. So we could yes and heart and laugh a post (and a few more emojis too please), especially for when people share renders and advice and funny comments, so the poster knows we appreciated their post!

    That'd be sooooo nice! smiley
