Genesis 9 anatomical elements - SOLVED

Please can someone tell me where I can find Genesis 9 genitalia? All topics in the forum are pointing to "Genesis 9 Starter Essentials Expansion", but there's nothing related to genitalia there only eybrows and eye colors.
It's weird because in the product description it is stated "Anatomical Elements* - *Includes geometry for anatomical elements. Textures are not included in this product and are provided by certain character products."
But there are no Anatomical Elements in the package, is this a bug?

  • I can confirm that they're in there, in People/Genesis 9/DAZ Originals/Base Anatomy folder.

But there are no anatomical elements textures for the DAZ base characters anywhere. You have to buy a character that includes them.

Or you can buy one of the 2nd party gen products over at Renderotica that come with adaptable texture assortments or utility programs that create gen textures from the figure's torso textures.  Which begets the question: if a bunch of independent PAs can make something like that work, why isn't DAZ including something similar with their products?

This threw me for a loop for awhile too.  I have been used to using 'Smart Content' to apply the anatomical elements geometry for prevous versison of DAZ figures, but for some reason the Geneiss 9 elements just don't show up in 'Smart Content.'  What is funny, is that some of the mats for the elements will show up, but you have to manually apply the geometry from the path that @butterflyfish points out, before the mats will actually load.  I suppose if you aren't a 'Smart Content' user, this never would have been a problem?  Good luck!

The obvious answer: Daz sells characters on these figure bases that resemble minors*. And so there needs to be at least some system that limits the ability to use the two together, and only allowing appropriate textures to be distributed with adult characters does something to address that.

Or, at least enough to address that to make the payment processors happy, from whom Daz receives considerably more scrutiny and restriction than the smaller stores.

    * And, I, for one, am grateful that my world doesn't have to exclude everyone under the age of 18.

Have you tried to reinstall it? I attached my content of Base Anatomy folder, and there are only eyebrows and gouged ears from Mira pro bundle. This is also confirmed by checking the installed files, their product readme, and also the archive package. There are no other files than eyebrows or eye color. Please send me a screenshot with them if it's not too much trouble so I can attach it in the support request ticket.

This is the content of installed files (I have to put it in multiple messages):

    Content :

I have the Extended license for Golden Palace Genesis 3 and 8 and for me at least it's a real pain to use it in a game,  the shell is not rigged so I programmatically have to position it, the maps and the textures are not properly loaded. Even if it's rigged the best adjustments are done with morphs, the adjustments done with the bones look really bad. And the rest of the options on Renderotica are not even rigged,  and the prices are rocket sky(for the extended) so I can't afford trial and error, also the refunding at Renedrotica is not that good either. There are some options at renderhub with affordable prices but for those I have to own the original Anatomical Elements.

I wouldn't handle it that way. The geoshell is just a fairly ugly workaround for the fact that DS/Iray can't accept different UVs for different maps on a surface. (A much better way to handle it would be a custom shader that could blend the details in on the original surface, but not really possible with support for only one UV per surface).

You're better off using Map Transfer to get everything on a shared UV, and then merging the actual textures rather than having a shell.

I finally solved the problem and it seems it was all my fault,so sorry for  wasting your time. So it seems that there is a different product Genesis 9 Anatomical Elements, I just found it by looking for something else inside the Product Library.

This is actually a great advice, I'll look into it. Thank you!

I can't give a defimitive answer from Daz' perspective, and I don't have any of the products to test, but I would suspect it is either the process needed to apply the maps is too complex for something Daz would have to support (and which wouldn't be a stand-alone product in its own right, given the apaprent limits on what they can carry) or that teh results simply fail to meet their standards.

    It is a sub-product in https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-9-starter-essentials-expansion

  • Daz needs to quit messing around and just put with the elements like they did before. Having us hunt for this stuff is ridiculous. It's not something I'm going to use everyday, but if I want to use it I should be able to get to it easily. It makes me wonder when I hit the sales and buy a bunch of stuff, if I'm actually finding everything I bought...

How do you find a character that includes them? Do you just have to rummage through all the models and find one that says in the description something like "Includes textures for Genesis 9 Anatomical Elements Male/Female?"

    Essentially, yes.

All Daz core characters have them.

You can use a setup, where you use the body texture for the genitals, by an UV swap, if a character don't have the textures. Or use third party products.
