Confused right off the bat - "Menu bar"? Where?

I'm trying to do the "Adding a figure" guided tour. I don't seem to even have a menu bar, nor is there a "New" under the file menu. Am I just missing critical files from the install?

    Ok, I see my screenshot didn't attach. Is there a problem with this website too or am I just cursed?

    Ah, I see. The site doesn't like PNG files.

    Ok, I see, I needed to choose a workspace first. That's REALLY confusing.

    Click on the window button at the top next to the file button.  that should show you all your workspace options.  Is this what loads when you first start Studio?

    But I think for the tutorial you would click down at the bottom where the yellow button is to get started on the tutorial.  I didn't really do the tutorials I just kind of played around a bit and then tried one or two tutorials so I did things backwards.  The tutorials are very rigid though you have to follow the yellow arrows in order to move forward.  don't hit the esc button at the bottom of the text box or you will leave the tutorial entirely
