Genesis 3 Female problems

Hi,

I am having an issue with the Genesis 3 female head.  When I load the character the head is misshaped, especially the mouth, nose, and eyes.  See the attached image.  This just the basic character, no morphs or pose applied.  I have removed the Genesis 3 character and all the morph packages I could find and re-downloaded and installed with no change.  I copied the runtime directory to another system and the character looks the same.  I deleted DAZ Studio and the entire runtime then reinstalled Studio (4.8.0.59 64-bit Mac) and the Genesis 3 starter essentials, body morps, and head morphs.  This time the character looks correct.  I compared the contents of "data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 3/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Head" between the working and nonworking versions.  The files on both systems are identical.  I compared the file "data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 3/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Head/Genesis3Female.dsf" between the two systems and they are identical.  Checking the log files on loading Genesis 3 female there is no substatial difference between the working and nonworking system.

Any ideas on where to look?  I really don't want to delete my entire runtime are start over, but Genesis 3 and all of the Genesis 3 based characters are pretty much useless at this point.

Thanks,

Lloyd

one of your other morphs is auto loading with your base.

look back to anything that you've recently put into your runtime

Load your base figure, select it ins the Scene pane, then go to the Parameters pane and select 'Currently Used' .    Any morphs that are loaded with the figure should appear there, dial it back to zero to get rid of the influence.   You would then need to track down the morph and get rid of it.

    An update...

I checked the 'Currently Used', the only entries were 'Render SubD Level', 'Mouth Realism HD', and 'Navel'.  Those all showed up on the system which correctly loaded G3F.  Looking closer at the log file showed some entries not on the working system:

    Loaded file: Abbie Head.dsf

Loaded Morph Deltas in 0 min 0.0 sec.

    Loaded file: Abbie Body.dsf

Loaded Morph Deltas in 0 min 0.0 sec.

Checking the runtime libraries I could not locate those two files.  I have no idea where those files are or why they are being loaded.  At this point I decided to check out the Studio preference files.  The file com.daz.Studio4.plist was a mess.  I think that particular file has been on three different systems through several versions of Studio.  I moved that file aside and let Studio create a new one.  Now the G3F character loads correctly, no more reference to "Abbie" in the log file.

While the Genesis 3 female now loads correctly, the solution ("Try turning it off and back on again") is not very satisfying.  Maybe one cold, dark, and hopefully raining, day this winter I will go back to that plist and try to determine what really went sideways.

Try browsing to the folder that contains your runtime - do for all runtimes (maybe) and then search for abbie; if you use DIM try searching for abbie; check out where you've bought items for abbie.

If you find where you bought it, it will perhaps help you narrow down where it is if you have issues.

http://www.daz3d.com/abbie-a4 is the only item I can see at Daz with the same spelling.

Oh and I agree on the title, there is a definite problem with G3F items.

... We haven't seen a new one recently. crying
