Raiya's Look at Me Eyes with Gamma Correction 2.2 (Solved)

So, to preface this, this eye set is amazing and incredibly versatile, and I love it.  I would definitely reccomend it to anyone who doesn't already have it.  Sadly, I can't seem to get the eyes to look good with Gamma Correction set to 2.2  I'm using 3Delight, on a basic V5 model, and UE2 light in the screenshots.

Ive included screenshots -- (not sure in which order they'll appear) but basically they look fine with GC off, and clouded and milky when I set Gamma Correction to 2.2 when rendering.  I did try to adjust the texture map Gamma in the surfaces tab for the various eye surfaces (click Diffuse Color --> Image Editor, set Gamma to 2.2).  That trick has worked on other objects that look washed out with GC set to 2.2, but for these (normally) beautiful eyes, there's something I'm missing.

Anyone have any luck getting these to work with GC on?

Thanks!

That looks to me like a specular/reflection problem. I'd look there on the Cornea and the Sclera... Genesis 1, right? No eye surface if I recall.

  • evilded777 -- Thanks for the suggestions.  It is Genesis 1, so no eye surface --  you're correct.  I tried every specular / specular 2 surface I could find, and couldn't get it to work.  Finally, I just changed the shader to UberSurface 2, and wham! Problem solved.  The original shader was the older Human Surface shader.

I'm not technical enough to know the difference between the two, but obviously US2 has something in it that respects linear workflow that the older hss doesn't.  Thanks again for your help.
