making morphing body parts

I have a few dreamlight tutorials like Female Character Creation. I probably missed something but when I return the figure back to DAZ from Hexagon they are like one grey plastic figure that has no moveable parts. What I really want to do is to be able to make a part that adds onto the figure and has it's own morph. Something such as a tail or distorted face in which I can assign movement to and attach it to the figure making it look natural. I haven't been able to find info on this so far. I have seen a tail or 2 for DAZ characters in the store. I want to make a different type and add alot of movement to it. Hexagon is much easier to understand for me than Blender. Any info would be be appreciated Thanks Wayne!!!

  • To add new body parts you need to model them and rig them, ideally building them as GeoGrafts (using one or more loops of edges on the base figure as the basis for the new part, and keeping those unchanged while you build out from them with your tail or whatever). Making the model (which should not include the base mesh, other than the ring of edges if making GeoGrafts) is just the beginning. Note that if you are making a GeoGraft, as with making a morph, you must be working with the base resolution of the figure.

  • Thank You! this has helped me. I didn't know what a GeoGraft was until I looked it up on line and found a video on YouTube which showed a person making a tail. This will help me start things out.
