Snow Queen 9

There is a new queen in town and it would be a shame not to have a place to view renders done by the people who invited her to a trip to their library.

Edit : I changed the picture previously used (it's the main render of the Daz Pro Bundle if you want to see it), Daz server seems to force download pictures from the shop, hopefully, the picture from the gallery will not exibit the same behavior. Here, it's a picture by @midgard229 (hopefully, same name on the forum) and you can see it on the gallery following this link:

There was a thread but it seems to have vanished.

Look foward to seeing some renders. I'm hoping to get the pro bundle as a christmas present to myself in a few days.

Clicking the above image starts the downloading process, not a nice thing to do IMO.

Mine just opened as a full sized image.

When I clicked it wanted to download. Chrome browser.

It's also downloading with Firefox on my Mac sad.

I only included the main render of the Pro Bundle in a image tag, so I don't think I can 'fix' the problem.

I changed the picture, using one from the gallery (also an official render), which hopefully will work better for everyone.

Much better than the original, tksyes

  • She reminds me a bit of Susannah Harker, the actress who played Jane in the BBC Pride and Prejudice. I really like her! (Snow Queen, that is; I have no opinions either way on Ms. Harker as I've only ever seen her in two things.)

I've got a render cooking now, although who knows how long it'll take. This is the first female character that's made me wish I'd bought more dresses though.

I guess I must be spoiled by Hollywood's versions of queens, played by Charlize or Angelina.  I'll pass on this one.

you obviously haven't seen the paintings of real queens then cheeky

Ha ha! Yes, I'm quite aware of the inbred look of those historical queens.

  • Trying to find the sword from the promo pic. Looked through what winter/snow/frost/ice item I could find here, with no luck.

It looks to me like this one from Polish's Great Swords with an icy shader applied, maybe on a geoshell.

Makes me think of Elizabeth Debicki.

Ah perfect. Thanks for finding it!

It would be really helpful if there were any significant promo pictures of the alternate body shapes. If you insist on using your fomo tactics at least show us what we're buying.

From what little I can see of the child shape, it sure does look like a cartoon elf, but I am, as of yet, unsure.

I find the promos super confusing. They mix and match the promo images WAY too much (different ages from young to old senior, other gen 9 characters, cartoon, fantasy, realistic variants, skinny vs heavy, blue skin etc). There is no consistency to clearly demonstrate what the actual character looks like. When you mix and match too many different themes, ages, body shapes its gets really confusing what the actual character is supposed to look like and be themed as. Sometimes there is fine print when other characters are mixed in, but there are a lot of promos where I am questioning if this is the actual product I am buying or if other products are subtley mixed in. Even the narrative themes can be all over the place "Here is a versatile character that can be pirate, a ceo, an engineer, a young college student, an old senior, or a cartoon".

Not saying have 0 variety, but settle down and stay focused with the core character theme.

She does have a "character actress" look to her, to me. Agree about the confusing promos, though.

Here is a mix of Snow Queen, the teen and child versions and micro additions of different characters and tweaks. Default HDRI. I could not get the https://www.daz3d.com/hs-smooth-bob-hair-for-genesis-9-8-and-81-females to look good. Not sure if it's the character or what but there's always a gap at the part and I couldn't find a morph to fix it. For fun, I ran it through an AI phone selfie app that adds clothes, jewelry, makeup, a background and even fixed the hair!

I was not fond of the full morph, but mixing it with others and/or the child/teen morphs can create some original quirky characters.

    AI versions below:

A few more mixes. Definitely adds a quirkiness! Used the lighter eyes. Default HDRI. I whitened her teeth in the smiling one because her teeth were too grey for my taste. Testing new hairs too, so far not thrilled with any of them unfortunately.

Her upper lip line is super harsh, is that from the mophs that are mixed in or is SQ9's lip really that defined?

I added some Josie and/or Mira to the morphs and those characters tend to do that.

OK, this is a lot of post work and mixed morphs but was I think 30-40% Snow Queen and Snow Queen skin with other makeup and brows. I love the way this one came out! More my style. And then I put her through Ai! I don't know how the Snow Queen actually made a character more beautiful, but somehow it did!

    Exactly!

But I think this Snow Queen is not my cup of tea. The basic face is too masculine for my taste, with a strangely artificial facial cut.

Okay, you can make a snow king out of her. The other versions are more interesting - as far as you can recognise them. The bundles don't blow me away. I'm a fan of fefecoolyellow, for example, but the outfit for the Snow Queen is too over-decorated for me. I don't like asymmetrical clothing/armour anyway, but it seems to be incredibly popular in this shop.

YES! I knew she reminded me of someone but I just couldn't place it. She's Jane Bennett. Thank you!

I had that same problem, and seems to be the same on any head shape, pity because it's an otherwise nice hair - but I can't get it to look like the promo - attached a pic from the product page vs in DS on base feminine G9:

I do like the character, and she mixes well (both the base and teen shapes, haven't played with the others yet), both feminine and masculine. Some great ones in this thread too!

Bunch of experiments in the album here: LINK (all 60% or more Snow Queen)

Not as good as a real promo, but here is a quick line up

(Each figure comes with a blue version)

I spent ages rendering a picture, decided I didn't like it, and did this one instead in a fraction of the time. *sigh*
