2 QUESTIONS...

Hi everybody !

Here's another of my stupid requests...actually two !^^
Check the photos in attached files...
1 - Assuming that its obviously coming from Daz studio, who do you thing is / are the base character(s) used for these images ? I really like the soft asian look on there faces.
2 - How did the artist got this type of rendering like hyper realist drawing ? is it something straight outta Daz or there's some post prod on photoshop or something ?

( all credits and respect to the artist, you can check more of his work here : https://www.deviantart.com/yolyai/gallery - ATTENTION : 18+ stuff)

In advance, thatnk you for your halp !

Cheers !

    1. These both look like VOOTW characters.

    2. These just look like regular Iray renders with a big, soft key light (or an array of soft key lights), a lot of fill, and a very bright point- or spotlight for the rim. Sam Yang is a 2D artist who often lights characters like this (e.g. https://www.instagram.com/p/C0o8_KOOewl/?hl=en&img_index=1); he's got a YouTube channel where he talks about art and probably has a video there that goes into this style of lighting, but you should be able to replicate it by several big, soft lights in front of the character, one bright, very sharp one behind them, and then fiddling around until it looks right.

Might be worth having a look at https://www.daz3d.com/crocodile-liu and https://www.daz3d.com/sue-yee

Those images look like 2D paintovers referenced off a render, done with an airbrush in photoshop. WLOP on artstation/youtube has process videos (he's a little more painterly but he's one I can think off the top of my head that uses Blender/Daz as reference)

It was a blended char mainly from Rarestone and Crocodile Liu, mostly Gou Luk, Rin.. etc. as well as their texture maps. % of dials were usually not hight, then plus some morph packages for tweaking PHM.

There're a few chat groups in my country in which we discuss these things from time time... and quite a lot of people like to use Meitu, FaceApp and Ps for postwork. Yoly is good at customizing chars and postwork.

So it probably starts like this ( WIP )...it's a mix of Gou Luk and Lycoris
Am I going in the right direction ?

Yep ~ ! You don't have to make a very similar one, just customize the char of your own. Be bold to blend more head morphs !

An example from one of my chars ~

Yes ! The face is worth spending more time. Shaping the body is easier. Just take your time. yes
