oot hair collapse

I am using the latest version 4.22. When loading OOT hair on any model and turning on Iray mode, DZ will crash. Why is this? All other hair is fine.

Most of the affected hairs have been updated, but the issue is a shared file used in the Hair Blending shader so having an older version floating around in another content direrctory, installing an unupdated product last, or installing through Daz Connect and having the system grab the shared file from an unupdated product can all lead to the issue remaining.

The issue is easy to fix, before applying Iray. Select the hair figure(s) in the Scene, then in the Editor tab of the Surfaces pane select them again (so that you can edit the surface settings). Type transm in the filter box at the top of the Surfaces pane (this will quickly find the affected property, without having to scroll through the whole list). Remove any map applied to Transmitted Colour (click the button to the left of the colour picker and select None). The hair should now render without error.
