Exporting custom morphs from V4

Hey folks
Been working on this one on and off for a few daz versions and still no success.
I make a few morphs of V4, I want to give them to others and can't figure out how to export them.
I've pissed about with converting to weight map, save an actor, then try to save a morph asset... but nothing seemes to save anywhere and I spent twenty minutes ticking every morph on each bone of the figure... There has to be a better way than this. you know, a way that actually works?
thanks in advance for any help
Please don't mention Genesis. I'm sick of being told to use it

Hey Kerya
Thanks for the link. I'll check that out! Bit busy the next few days, but I want to get this licked
(also, your signature is VERY accurate... so few realise it)
Sadly, no luck.
I get the inj/rem files, added my new files to my (backed up) runtime folder, ran the bat... but no effect.
I load up an inj that should give my character spikes, but no morphs are loaded to the figure.
I followed the tutorial here: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/pub/tutorials/exp/tutorials to the letter (except for the location of where the ExP export button is in the menu) and even removed the one morph that was causing trouble (it has a / in the name... foolish me)
Is there a way to rename a parameter? I can change the displayed name, but it's still got "up/down" in there and I can't seem to use it otherwise. Can I copy it and rename it?
Unsure if it's related... but loading a figure from scratch, i have to select the location for several files (all are exactly where it's saying they should be). would that be affecting this too?
does this all still work with the most recent version of DAZ because I still can't get it to work. I'm following the tutorial to a letter and it's not working
Please post a screenshot of your settings in the ExP Exporter.
Here you go Richard
(Edit: upload take 2. didn't work the first time)
(edit 2: I also went through every bone, selecting the morph parts that had not selected from the 'body' node. The only one that caused trouble has a slash in the name and I can't seem to remove it. so I am not exporting that one and will re-make it with a better name unless I can change the property name)
You need to set the Actor Index File so that the exporter will know what bones go where - \Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Victoria 4\ActorList.txt
ah... right... the tutorial didn't mention, explain or include that... at least I didn't miss something obvious
Is that the txt file in the "!daz / v4" folder?
Yes, as in the relative path in my post.
aw man... I gotta get my glasses checked or somehting. Sorry about that. I have no idea how I mised that! Must be losing what little of my mind is left haha!
Sadly... there's no change :S I honestly don't understand it...
can I PM you a link to the file and you can see if this works? Honestly, I have the INJ/REM files, all the deltas are there and it just doesn't seem to do anything!
I am no stranger to things not quite working since my runtime library has been dragged kicking and screaming all over the place and I've thrown some things in the wrong places. It only works if I use the 'poser formats' and whenever I load a V4.2, it asks me for files that are where it's having trouble finding them... but this is starting to really get to me! I can't seem to get it to work!
I'm rusty on V4 stuff, and having trouble getting ready for Christmas, but if there's no great hurry I can try having a look at the files.
Hmm, well I finally got around to looking at this and they seem to be working if the deltas are injected using the poses - that's odd as most of the time, using Power Loader, the deltas are automatically injected. However, other than that the package is working as far as I can tell. If you create an Inj/Rem All pose for convenience the set would be perfectly usable although it should of course be loading its deltas automatically.
I maanged to get the morphs to load their deltas - as I should have remembered, the set needs meatadata which can be created very simply with the Power Loader Developer script as described here http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/pub/tutorials/exp/tutorials (the Deltas folder is \Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Victoria 4\Deltas\Your morph set\)
Had to make a new library with a fresh instal of V4 to get it to work, but it works!
Pretty clear the problem is in my regular directory (asking me for files that are where it's looking for them for example) so my apologies for all the hassle.
Thanks to Richard and Kerya for the help!
