Distant Point Lights

Can anybody tell me how to create a new point light and have it load at a specific location, rather than at world center? I have a HUGE landscape with a distant castle and I want to drop some point lights into it to make the window slits lit. There has to be a way to load the point lights at a specific location rather than dragging each one a zillion miles. It took long enough just to get the viewport out that far!

If you are looking through perspective view  you can have the point light or spot light be created right at the view location.  The option is in the drop down.  You can also create cameras at those loactions as well.

Or copy one light after placing it and paste its settings onto the others.

    What they said.

But also I'm curious: If you know a specific set of coordinates you want a pointlight at, what's stopping you from loading the pointlight into the scene and then setting its coordinates by hand?

You don't have to drag or move... In Create New Point Light options dialog, tick to apply current Perspective view or select a figure / object in current view beforehand, tick the option of Copy Selected Item, the coord values will be copied to P. Light.
