DSC-001 DOWNLOAD

I;m not sure if this question belongs in this category or the Bryce category, but...  (Its technical)

...I manually downloaded DSC-001 and SPACE PORT BRYCE (so I can later export them to use in Daz3D), however, I cannot figure out how to place them in Bryce.

Once available for use, I'm not sure if I find them in the OBJECTS section or under PRESETS, LIBRARY,ect... (example in picture below), but right now, I at least need set them up in Bryce.

Is there a path I use, and if so, how does one go about using it?     Or some other way?

Basically, I just need set them in place (ESPECIALLY DSC-001), so I can begin using them.

ANSWER LOCATED AFTER EXAMINING THIS INFORMATION!

    BRYCE IMPORTING

    OBJECTS

The files are in .obp format. “Obp” stands for “Bryce Object Preset.” To enter the Object Preset Library in Bryce, choose the CREATE Palette at the top. Then press the triangle to the right of the word 'Create.'

    SKIES

The sky presets are in .bsk format (Bryce Sky). To enter the Bryce Sky Library, click the triangle to the right of the “Sky & Fog” palette.

    Other Libraries

There are other file formats in Bryce, such as .bto (Bryce Tree), but these are not typically part of importing a Bryce add-on product.

    Importing A Preset

Once you know the file type and the location, you can enter the relevant library and import the file.

Enter the library that corresponds to the kind of preset you are going to import. So, if you want to import a Material Preset (.mat), you should enter the Material Library.

    Choosing Where to Import

Within each library, there are several categories and groups in each folder. Before you import into that library, you'll want to choose which subfolder to use. You can even create a new group within a category. It's best to choose an arrangement that makes sense to you.

In Bryce 6 and 7, for example, in the Materials Library, you'll find these categories:

    Architectural
    Atmospherics
Contributing Artists (Bryce 7 only, not in 6)
    Effects
    Gemstones
    Glass
    Metals
    Misc
Pro Materials (Bryce 7 Pro only)
    Stones
    Terrains
    User
    Vegetation
    Waters

So, if you are choosing to import an add-on with new metal textures, you may want to choose to import it into the 'Metals' category. Select 'Metals,' so you're in that category.

Within the category, you can choose an existing group or create a new group. For example, in Metals, you'll find several groups (Automotive, Bright, Christmas Balls, etc.). Select the group you want by clicking on its name. Alternatively, you can make a new group by clicking on the “+” Plus sign below. A window will open in which you can type the name of the new category. Then press the 'check mark' to the right to complete the creation

    Importing the Preset

Now all that's left is to import the file. You'll need to know where the file rests in folder structure on the hard drive. For most products, the readme will tell you the paths of the files. Otherwise, you'll need to browse the hard drive.

To import, press the button labeled 'Import.' A window will open to allow you to browse to and select the file. By default, only files of the format of the library you're in will be visible (.mat, .obp, .bsk). Browse to the file to import. Once you've found the file, double-click it. One or more presets will now appear in the library. Each preset will appear as a square thumbnail.

I''M STILL NOT PROFICIANT AT LOCATING THE RIGHT FILES AND PATHS TO SEND NEW PURCHACES TO BRYCE.

    BUT THIS INFO HELPED!
