My product library is also messed up, 464 products are currently unavailable.

Well that seems to be working normally again now.

After months of the forums working fine, last night began the cycle of being kicked out and needing to sign in multiple times an hour.

I wish... It's happening once or twice every two minutes...

Call me bias (and very proudly so), but I would like to strongly suggest Daz consider switching to xenForo:  https://xenforo.com

It's still happening. Someone is gone for the weekend. Never make updates to software Friday afternoon then take off.

What update? If it was an update it would have been olled back, most likely. It also started before Friday, so both of your assumptions seem to be incorrect.

I'm a programmer. There is no such thing as a computer glitch. You push the wrong button, write an error in the code, or miss something when testing. Rollbacks are not a given. This has been going on for years, I'm going to bite my tongue at this point.

  • Whatever is causing this is still happening. Went from one forum thread to another and poof, signed out again.

Has been happening many times over the past few days, both store and forum.

    Firefox.

I've been signed in for over 5 minutes now and was able to read several messages. This is the best it has been for days.
    Windows 10, Firefox.

Eidt: It didn't last, though. A few minutes later, it signed me out again. frown

DAZ 3D might consider ditching the SSO between the forum & store and make the sign ons seperate as has to be done with the Mantis/Remedy Help Desk or whatever they are using there. I mean how much convenience is it ultimately when it causes this much trouble? Password managers & the like are built into every browser platform now making the old rational for SSO obsolete and canning it is ridding DAZ of a SW complexity that has potential security implications for DAZ 3D, their service providers, and the DAZ 3D customers.

I still get signed out too, but much less frequently now and here I went and closed my ticket already, not that it's needed with this many people encountering the same bug.

Which was an attempt to resolve the issue after it had already started, and I don't know if it was left in place or not once it was fouind to be ineffective.

Which has no connection to your original assertions.

...I've just taken to composing my posts in word and then pasting them into the edit window so if I get signed out before I can click the posit comment button I still have a backup.

Also spell checking is much better than in Forums as I can used my saved dictionaries..

Well, hardware does fail.  And there's always stray cosmic rays & stuff, BUT good code doesn't fail by itself if its inputs are properly limited.  And a prepared system, should it fail, would have contingency plans that would restore the system quickly, assuming they are carried out flawlessly.

So, I'm going under the assumption that the root of the problem is unknown.   Either that or the person who knows how to fix it, is on vacation climbing a mountain and we'll have to send Spock up with an anti-gravity belt to get to him.cool

So, the usual thing happened once again. We actually had a DAZ representative come in and tell us they're aware of the problem, they're sorry for the inconveniance and that they appreciate our patience...then, silence. While announcing that they don't know what's causing the problem wouldn't fix anything, it atleast wouldn't leave the field wide open for speculations and angry, frustrated users. And if they don't solve this in a timely manner, I'm afraid these forums will be even more decimated than after the last time this very same thing (and others) happened.

is it rocket science? In my opinion, no.

I get the distinct impression that these forums are more troublesome for them than it's really worth.

We are constantly informed only a tiny percentage of customers use the forums anyway

I have been signed out using the store though too whuch likely concerns them more

The sign out issue is annoying, but it's the web! No way of telling about actual forum use. There are probably plenty of folks who lurk without posting. There is an enormous amount of content and information contained in the fora here. Whatever percentage of total sales we represent, we post a lot of stuff! I don't really post that much, but other people do - renders, answers to questions, tips, tricks, product info, you name it. That has to have some value for customers and company alike.

"Constantly informed" means the statement is repeated by non-Daz people.

Don't want to jnx it, but the forums have been fine for me this evening. Hoping it stays that way.

Spoke too soon. Got kicked out 3x in a minute. Oh well.

i bet DAZ support doesn't like it when users can't solve program problems in the forums.

I seem to be staying logged into the store and my account today, but as soon as I switch to the forum it logs me out.

If I keep the "Recent Discussions" open and open topics in new tabs only one at a time, I can read 3-4 topics before opening another topic in new tab logs me out again.

It's like selecting menu items and/or changing page are the triggers for logging out.

I was doing fine without any issues today until I tried to read this thread, then I was logged out. crying

I checked out the store, built a cart, then came to read the Common. Logged out, tried to log in, 3 times before I finally made it. Last night on my iPad Pro, it was a nightmare and I just gave up trying to relax reading the forums.

DAZ, please help us please. Not sure if you are aware of how much the forum feedback highlights products you sell. Things I missed, I have gone back and looked at either for the first time, or a second and then bought.

Please know that Daz is trying to work on this. It is also Sunday.

Very tired of this. Hopefully it's heading towards daytime in Salt Lake City now and the chance of a fix improves.

    Regards,

    Richard
