Help with direction of ies files?

I've been trying to get familiar with the different ways to light my scene using iray and have been experimenting with ies files. But I have a small issue. If I want "light" to come from a window on the left wall (for example) the ies file doesn't work. I have found some "downward" ies files and a few "left facing" ones, even some upward (floor) ones but I haven't found any that point "right" and I can't figure out how to adjust the ones I have when the "light" will be coming from something that doesn't or can't be rotated (like a wall or a window). Is there some way to edit the file to change the direction it points? Or is there a parameter in Daz Studio that will rotate the file? Thanks.

Lights from IES goes in (minus) Z-direction of the object you emit from (Thats why I created two emitters for my Emission Profile Master product. The reason is that Iray internally uses Z for vertical.
Totte iss aying that the lights are set to shine along the Z axis. You need to rotate the item they are applied to, having created it facing Z forwards (assuming ti is a promitive).
I created a plane with Z forward, but I had to rotate it 180 degree, to get it right.
Edit: which corresponds to the axis orientation in blender.
Sorry, Z backwards was what I should have said
Minus Z that is :P
Ah! I see. Okay, thanks, guys!
