Convert Weight Maps to Groups

Hi, importing FBXs into DAZ, I saw that the imported models are not divided into groups, but have Joints and are posed via Weight Maps. I wanted to know if it was possible to convert Weight Maps into groups?

  • It might be doable via script, setting a threshold value for include/exclude (though some complex junctions might not reach the threshold for any group) - but why do you want to? Groups are not used for the actual posing, just as selection groups so that you can click on a bone's mesh to select it as an alternative to selecting in the Scene pane (and the change log seems to refer to another approach being added for this anyway).

    Not for the poses, but for the morphs. If I import an FBX, for example, it is not divided into groups, but is laid with the Weight Maps. However, it is more difficult to create a morph this way. So, if you could convert WMs into Groups, you could create morphs.
