Totte is mainland Europe, they are an hour ahead of the UK.  I never think of us as being in Europe.  Heck I used to work in Greenwich Park, where GMT came from.

I am from the States so the UK is Europe for me relative to the other side of the Atlantic. I know east of the Channel, the "Continent" is considered Europe I believe...? :)

Yes indeed.  Anything over the Channel or the North sea.  I am somewhat old fashioned.  THe UK is the UK and Europe is Europe. and Skandinavia is full of vikings and mad Swedish chefs (aka the muppet show).  And, contrary to what the mad swe ...umm   Totte says, I don't know all that much, I don't even know who the people he is talking about are.

  • Hey ok so I have run into an issue, I am getting a response that says the package has "no runtime", with a red light/pin. What shall I do in this case? Only 1 file in the list...

  • TotteTotte Posts: 14,100

Then select the package and browse it. Does it have a Runtime? If it is located down in the zip you can select it and click set runtime, the same with data if you find it, and it will the use those as base for finding the other related directories.

Lol @ Chohole ;-) I think most people would be really honored to be compared to Jamie Hyneman ;-)

  • No runtime i dont think...

Then you click People, then do Select Destination and navigate to the Poeple Folder in installing "My Library" to tell RI where the heck this should be placed ;-)

  • Look good before i ruin anything?

Not sure where exactly to load to, I have a feeling the directions are for PC and that the PC layout might be different...? The path, Runtime>Textures was the closest thing I could find...

    Basically these two items:

    Inked Vol.7

V4 to G3F Add-On pack for Texture Transformer

from renderosity and trying to make them work in DS4.8 and i definitely need help there :p

pretty sure Inked installed into the library as normal with Rendo, however it only shows up in the ContentLibrary under Poser Formats...I have emailed the author bc I may or may not need Poser? idk...

Yupp, and I guess you need to read the readme to figure out where those files go as I said, it isn't packed in the library way

  • Yes I have but I still cannot find the path. I have searched for it as well in the finder and nothing has come up matching that description...

  • That is not Daz Studio or Poser content, it is a plug-in for either the Texture Transformer or the full Blacksmith3D suite.

  • ahhhhh, ok thank you. I will try to return this then.

    You're welcome!

As I said I wrote it becuase I had 1400 files to install, and it would take less time to write ut than to actually install the stuff manually ;-)

Now i must figure out how i can make all the content i bought on Renderosity can show up in DAZ3D.

All parts are in the »right« folders now but does not show up in DAZ. Like its not existent.

I don't get why creators write its for Poser & DAZ3D and don't prepare it properly.

Maybe they mean: »it can RUN if you have enough TIME«

Do you look at the right place?

In DAZ Studio, content from third parties will only show up in the Content Browser, not in the Smart Content unless you create smart content entries yourself.

Thank you Totte. I always use the »normal« Content Browser since the »Smart Content Browser« is a nice idea but can't be really smart due to the old chaos and compromise file storage system.

The alphabet folders helps me most atm.

But i still cant find any content i added from Renderosity.

Maybe its a Poser internal format and it needs to be imported and converted and newly saved?

The icons of some of these files show me a red Poser icon. (.ps) and are stored only in the Runtime folder system?

No file delivered for Data - People ...

DAZ3D can see / read Poser files with no conversion?

"The alphabet folders helps me most atm."

The alphabet product listing is still smart content, you need to browse the real browser

DS reads poser files, so if it's a Poser file, it will be in Poser Format / Figures (for a figure)  or Poser Format / Props (for a prop)

Smart Content doesn't give a rodent's rear about the file system.  It is a database tagged system that uses metadata to populate the database.  Of course if your content is no installed right you will still get the same errors as you would from the Content Library tab system.

Even though I know this is an old forum thread, I also am having difficulty installing 3rd party content in DAZ on my Mac. In an earlier post, I saw that Totte mentioned that he had written an app that would solve this problem and install 3rd party content automatically, eliminating the need to worry about what goes where. But, when I clicked on the link he provided, I received a 404 error message: "Content Not Here"  so I was wondering if this app is still available and, if so, if it will run with DAZ 4.12.2 on a Mac running macOS 10.15.5 and if the answer to both those conditions is yes, where I may find this app?

    Thanks!
