im not sure if im posting this in the correct place as i dont come to the forums often. i was resently setting up a scene with a gen 9 character and applied an expression with closed eyes. and to my horror the eyes only shut in the middle of the eye lid. leaving the outter and inner lids open. i was able to get them to shut by manual adjustments however this got me to wondering why this happend. and upon using the joint editor i compaired it to a gen 8.1 character and found out why. the gen 9 character only has 1 bone per eyelid where as the gen 8.1 has 5. why is this and does anyone else have this issue. is there an easy fix for this? or do i just learn how to add bones to fix it.

Since it's an issue with a particular piece of content rather than the Daz Studio application it is better in Technical Help, to which i have moved it.
That looks as if there is a morph chnaging the eye shape which lacks, or has lost, the corrective morph that fires when the eyes are closed and the morph is applied. That may be an issue with one of the shapes you have applied, or it may be that you have exported a figure with multiple morphs applied and imported as a new morph, to back them to a single property, which breaks all kinds of adjustments and is therefore not recommended.
This could also be the opposite thing, which is a corrective morph for a specific character which is activating when it shouldn't. A lot of G9 characters seem to have this problem. So if this isn't a character you exported and then reimported as a new morph, the thing I would recommend is going through the "currently used" dials in the parameters tab and looking for dials with "blink" and the name of a character who isn't currently activated in their names. If you find any of those, try turning them down to zero.
You don't need to learn how to add bones to fix it... just follow what Ninefold suggested to check if there's any corrective properties unexpectly dialed, with Show Hidden Properties by the way. It seems an issue coming from some morph dials (with wrong setup of 2nd stage control...) rather than joints or rigging...
Besides, joints on G9 have been optimized. As for such a case of eyelids control, two bones on upper / lower eyelid are enough for human figures.
I was having the same problem as well. I think I might have found the solution. Following the advice given by @ninefold and @crosswind I managed to figure out it's The Age of Genesis 9 by @PFA . Whenever I use the BLINK expression it triggers three JCMs...
• PFA the age Baby Left Eye closed Correct
• PFA The Age Baby Eye Right Closed Correct
• PFA The Age Baby Eye Left Closed Correct
I'm not sure if this was updated or not.

I checked in here: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/90001/file_list There seems no fix at all.
So, pls just fill a ticket. Then if you want to fix them yourself:
1) Switch to Edit Mode in Parameters pane, right-click on a corrective property (let's say: PFA The Age Baby Eye Right Closed Correct), choose Show in Property Hierarchy.
2) Expand the property, you can see Controllers, at its 2nd Stage (Multiply/Devide), there must be nothing defined....
3) Filter PFA The Age - Baby in Parameters filter field, then drag the property to above 2nd Stage (Multiply/Devide). Do the same to other wrongly-set corrective morphs.
Nothing to do with fixing the problem but my youngest Granddaughter, now eleven, sleeps with her eyes like that. Freaked me out the first time I saw it...still does sometimes. I used to blow on her face to make sure she hadn't passed :)
Haha ~~
@crosswind: So what can you do if a character has corrective morphs firing, but there's nothing defined in the 2nd Stage (Multiply/Divide) section?
I have a character from another store, and her JCMs are firing with the Eye Blink from the Genesis 9 morphs (see image). There's nothing at all in the Controllers 2nd stage, which seems to be as it should be. The minimum and default values on her parameters tab are both set to 0%, as they should be.
Also ... I'm afraid I'm a bit unclear as to what exactly to do with step 3 of the above instructions, but that may be because she has no values showing up there.
I also have PFA The Age, and have the same issue as the OP, but I also have absolutely nothing showing up at 2nd Stage (Multiply/Divide) on that one, either.
Right, there should've been a 2nd stage controller(s)...
In your 1st case, you just filter Azee Head in Parameters pane, drag it to the 2nd Stage of those two AzeeG9_facs...eye blink properties.. in Property Hierarchy.
In the case of PFA age, as I mentioned above, in the same way: filter PFA The Age - Baby in Parameters pane, drag it to the 2nd Stage of those corrective morphs.
Oh, OK. Let me be sure I understand this so I don't mess up:
There's nothing defined in the 2nd stage controllers, but there should be. So for the first case, I need to drag Azee's Head morph slider -- but NOT the eye blink facs controllers -- to the 2nd stage, and that will tell Studio to only apply when Azee's head morph is active. Is that correct?
Absolutely correct!
