Iray - I can only render for three days?

Is there some reason I cannot set my Iray renderer to run longer than 259200 seconds (3 days)?

I would swear that -- early on -- I was able to render for four days or more. I just kept it on all the time and it kept going until I thought everything looked good enough.

And (because someone is bound to ask), here are the current system specs (I'm going to upgrade soon, though):

Win7 Home Premium
i5 processor, quad core
8 GB ram
Daz Studio 4.8 (latest build)

AFAIK, you can set the max time to any value if the defaults are not enough

I'm not sure - but I think that setting the ime to zero causes it to be ignored.

  • Medzin: Arrrrgh! The "use limits" checkbox was checked! Ugh. That's been messing me up for a month. Thank you SO VERY MUCH for your help. Ditto to namffuak, too. I will check that suggestion, as well.

setting max time to zero will cause it to stop when it reaches "Max Samples" or "Rendering Converged Ratio" whichever comes first.

Thank you so much for that info. I don't even know how my settings got changed. Iray is new, so I haven't really poked around all the settings, yet. I've been exploring the surface of what the tools have to offer (particularly the magic possible in Tone Mapping), but I'm barely scratching the surface.
